• Daily Mass at 8:30 AM – Wednesday’s 6PM followed by Confession

Religious Education

Classes for grades 1 through 8 are held on Monday evenings from 6 to 7 PM at St. Francis Xavier School. Classes in March: 15th, 22nd, 29th.

The High School Program (grades 9 & 10) Sunday classes are held at St. Francis Xavier School from 9:45 to 10:45 AM. Monday classes are held at St. Francis Xavier Church from 56 to 7 PM. Classes in March: Sunday the 14th, Monday the 22nd and Sunday the 28th.

Knights of Columbus

The Winooski Knights of Columbus meet every 2nd Monday of each month at the Senior Center at 7 PM.

Any man 18 years of age or older wishing to join the Knights should contact Grand Knight Brian Senecal at 893-4998 or Deputy Grand Knight Roger Bell at 655-1032.

Communion Breakfast

The Knights of Columbus, the Daughters of Isabella and the Union St. Jean Baptiste # 35 will co-sponsor a Communion Breakfast on Sunday, March 14th at the Winooski Senior Center, Barlow Street. Serving from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The cost is $5.00 per person, children 6 to 12 $4.00, children under 6 are free: not to exceed $18.00 per family Proceeds are to benefit Vermont Seminarians studying for the Priesthood. All Are Welcome.

Daughters of Isabella

Madonna Circle 730 meet every 3rd Wednesday of each month at the Winooski Senior Center at 7 pm. Any women wishing to join the Daughters please contact Andrea Senecal at 893-4998. "You, as women, have your own gift to offer to the Church -- a gift that is very precious and very needed."

Palm Sunday Brunch

The Daughters of Isabella Madonna Circle 730 together with the Winooski Knights of Columbus will be hosting their annual Palm Sunday Brunch on the 28th of March. The brunch will be held from 8:30 AM to 1 PM at the Winooski Senior Center. The cost will be $7.50 for adults and $4 for children 6-12; children under 6 will be free. Lenten Series

A six week Lenten Series led by Gertrude Cross a graduate of St. Michael’s College Masters of Arts in Theology and former religion teacher at Rice Memorial High School will be held on Thursday’s beginning February 18th though March 25th. We will study the Old Testament history of the relationship between God and the Jewish people; God’s love, promises and covenant for His people will be part of this study. The series will be held in the sacristy after the 8 AM Mass from 9 to 10:30 AM. All are welcome.

Tenebrae Service

The Most Reverend Salvatore R. Matano and the Vermont Gregorian Chant Schola will present a Tenebrae service, Wednesday, March 31st at 7 PM at Holy Family Church in Essex Junction. The word “tenebrae” is Latin for shadows and the service is designed for Holy Week, includes Scripture narratives and solemn hymns that capture the passion of Jesus Christ. All are invited to attend

St. Joseph School

Pax et bonum!

The Servants of St. Francis Prayer group will meet on Monday, March 15th, at 6 PM at St. Anthony Church in Burlington. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will follow at 7 PM. We had a fruitful first meeting and encourage anyone with a desire to conform themselves to Jesus through Franciscan spirituality to prayerfully consider joining us. We plan on meeting one Saturday a month for service work, teaching and fellowship, of if Monday nights are not good for you please feel free to join us on Saturdays. Presented by Father Raphael Bonanno, Franciscan Friars Ministry of the Word. March 21-24, 2010. The schedule is as follows: Sunday, March 21st – 7 PM presentation, “Living in the Embraces of God’s Love” followed by Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Monday, March 22nd – 8:30 AM Rosary and Prayer; 9 AM Mass; 7 PM presentation. “Forgiveness as the Path to Peace” followed by Reconciliation. Tuesday, March 23rd – 8:30 AM Rosary and Prayer; 9 AM Mass; 7 PM presentation, “Healing the Human Heart” followed by Anointing of the Sick. “My Lord and my God!”

After the desert, the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus, we are called to live out our Faith in Our Living Lord in our daily lives. On Saturday, April 17th Monsignor Richard G. Lavalley will lead a day retreat on silent prayer at the Our Lady of Life House of Solitude in Quebec. The retreat will start at 9h30 and be over by late afternoon. The drive takes about 1h45 minutes. There are a few rooms available for those who would like to arrive after supper the evening before. Price: should never be an obstacle. Suggested minimum donation:

Catholic Golden Age

The Catholic Golden Age Monthly Luncheon will take place on the 3rd Tuesday of the month: March 16th at St. Anthony’s Parish Hall on Flynn Ave., Burlington. Guest Speaker will be Fr. Dallas St. Peter. Please make reservations by March 15th by calling 862-4564.

Calcutta

The St. Francis Xavier Home and School Association will be hosting its annual Calcutta on Friday, April 16th at the Sunset Ballroom on Shelburne Road. There is a $1,000 payout. There will be prizes for every fifth ball, raffles, and silent auction. Tickets are $85 and include dinner for two and one ball.
